This garlic press works fine and is easy to use. The handles are comfortable while in use crushing garlic. The finish looks like it could be chromed. Only the title says stainless steel, which leads me to suspect that this could still be pot metal with a chromed finish. As long as this press holds up then no big deal. I will certainly update this review if this press breaks. It is possible to accidentally catch the pressing pad on the edge of the chamber closest to the hinge pin. You’ll want to take care to avoid that and then squeezing the press because you can bend the pressing pad. I did to another press in the past, so now I check to see if a press will allow this condition to occur, or if it is designed to prevent this possibility. As long as you avoid that then this press is fine and works well.
