It’s made of food-grade silicone as advertised, though there was a slight smell when I first unpacked it. After airing it out for a day, the odor disappeared completely. The surface is soft but tough, about 0.08 inches thick. It’s thinner than mats I’ve used before. Personally, I prefer something a bit thicker, but this one still feels durable and lightweight. What I really love is the size—27.6 x 15.7 inches. It’s much bigger than standard soldering mats and easily covers my whole workbench. That makes it ideal for repairing laptops or working on multiple devices at once. The layout is also super practical. There are:Screw storage sections: perfect for organizing tiny parts like screws or chips.Tool zones: marked areas for placing your soldering iron or hot air gun.Anti-slip zones: great for keeping circuit boards steady while you work.Built-in ruler and grid: super helpful for measuring and aligning components during BGA soldering.I recently used it while repairing a laptop, and separating the screws by section really helped avoid confusion. The grid and ruler were also useful for lining things up precisely. It definitely made the job smoother and more efficient. It’s flexible and easy to roll up for storage or travel, and at about 1 lbs, it’s pretty portable. The mat can handle up to 932°F (500°C), so it easily withstands heat from a soldering iron, hot air gun, or even molten solder. I accidentally dropped some solder while working on a phone motherboard—no damage or burn marks at all.Cleanup is simple too. Flux and solder residue wipe right off with some alcohol, and it looks like new again. The matte grey finish is low-key and doesn’t show stains easily, which I also appreciate.
