Cambridge Satin Colby Piece Flatware Set, 20 Count

When I first opened the package containing this set of four place settings (two forks, two spoons, one knife, all times four, for a total of 20 pieces), one of my kids said, they’re so big! Yes, compared to our scrawny current flatware, these are a significant upgrade in every way. My response was, better bigger than smaller. Made of 18/0 (18% chromium, no nickel) stainless, each piece is nicely crafted, with almost a matte finish (I guess that’s what satin means here), which makes the flatware really stand out. Each piece also has some heft to it, just feels solid like what you might find in a nice restaurant. Lastly, the styling is unique – there is so much variety in how flatware can be styled, but the rounded, modern look of this set is likely to please most tastes, it definitely does mine. I am delighted to add this to our existing flatware collection, and have retired some of our old pieces to make room for this set.I do want to mention that the package says, dishwasher safe, but handwashing recommended. With some handblown glasses that I have, dishwashing actually caused clouding damage of the surface; with this set, it’s hard to imagine what kind of damage could actually be done by dishwashing. But if that is a concern for you (it’s not for me), you might want to consider that in your decision. 5 out of 5 for me.
