The braided cords are very strong and will outlast a rubber/plastic coated wire. However, it can still fray the wires internally if you use your phone while charging, frequently. For this, I recommend a rotating, magnetic cord with the usb you need. This works with i-phones.I did replace it after I wore it out in a few months. Hopefully, the magnetic charge cord will be my last.
