I far prefer this sort of floor mat for an office whether sitting or standing, though it definitely adds a lot of cushion for those always standing. You probably wouldn’t want to have anything heavy permanently on top of it, ie a desk leg etc., it is fine with my desk chair but the rollers do leave an impression after sitting a while. It bounces back pretty quickly but I would try not to have anything permanently compressing it, since it may leave a lasting impression.Great for apartments with hardwood floor, eliminates any noise from chairs rolling, toe tapping, clumsily knocking things on the floor, etc. I personally like the yellow lines as my office doubles as a home recording studio and the yellow sort of delineates the control area, as well for those with vision issues or fellow residents with poor vision, the yellow makes it hard to miss (While it’s not *that* thick, I could see someone tripping on it). The black would blend in with any dark floor, that may or may not be desirable.I don’t know about the extra long ones, but I was surprised how little time mine took to flatten out. Some mats have to be weighted down to undo the bend put in them by rolling them up for packing, this was basically immediately flat. I’d guess that means it quite ready to rebound from an area being compressed for a long period, but I’d still rather not chance it.I only wouldn’t recommend this if you want a very thin mat, as it is not, but you don’t get the shock absorption or noise deadening with a regular paper thin desk mat, so I would definitely buy again.
